Experiences of Devotees

Sri Maharshi says miracles are possible and do happen at the behest of yogis, though infrequently. He however cautions that the miracles are only secondary and the ultimate goal of spiritual quest is Samadhi (liberation) and Divinity and sadhaks (seekers) should not deviate from this path. The spiritual experiences of individual seekers also reflect the strength of their Sadhana (practice) and surrender. Upon request of some of the disciples, a few experiences of devotees are included here.

We started prayers to Sri Somanatha immediately on 20-12-96, the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi day. Within four days there was a letter from our younger son Sai Gopal. Immediately we went to Visakhapatnam where Sri Maharshi was camping and thanked him. He said "Do not worry. I will get him soon for you".

In another four days our elder Venkatesh got job in Srinivas Floriculture of Bangalore. We were extremely happy. Our elder boy was hurriedly packing his things and lo and behold! Sri Maharshi's photo was found in his dairy. It was not brought either by us or by him. He did not meet Swamiji at all. This happened like a miracle.Our elder son went to Hyderabad and took our younger son for darshan of Sri Maharshi at the Kshetram on the hill.While going there he mentioned to his brother that there was no letter from him to enable the family to know his address and he found it difficult to trace him (in Hyderabad). Then the younger one showed the letter in his pocket and told that he was afraid of posting it and kept it in his pocket. The letter was read by Sri Ramatulasiraju, Gangadhar, Rajireddy and others in the presence of Sri Maharshi and they were all pleasantly surprised; and mentioned that Sri Maharshi's miracles were unfathomable. That is why Sri Maharshi always says "I do errands for you just like a servant in this world".Sri Somanatha is our God materialised in human form, for our benefit. We spend our lifetime in his service and remembrance.

On September 2, 2000 afternoon with other friends and coordinators went to Dallas International Airport to receive His Holiness Sri Somanatha Maharshi. For the first time, many of us are meeting Sri Maharshi and were all thrilled with excitement like children waiting to see him.

We received him with a Garland of flowers to Dallas and claimed his baggage and proceeded to TANA Regional Convention where he was to give a seminar on Manoyoga Sadhana ( A breathing technique) to help better our health and prosperity.

As we are driving towards the convention center, we mentioned that there is no rain for the last 70 plus days in Dallas and this situation has occurred once about 30 plus years ago. He responded saying, "All right I will request Varuna (God of Rain) about it". As we reached the Convention Centre and were proceeding to check in the Hotel we all witnessed some showers on a sunny day in the most unexpected way for a few seconds. I asked him, are these showers anything to do with HIS presence in Dallas, Swami, he just chuckled and walked towards the entrance of the Hotel.

At that time, I realised we received an incarnation of God and mentioned the same to him. He said I am only a "Margadarshak" (a guide showing the path) follow my path an d you will all live Healthy and Happy ever after. Later, during his stay in Dallas, wonderful miracles were witnessed by many and were all fortunate and privileged to have his presence in Dallas, which was a boon to many of us all over United States.

We all call them miracles, whereas Sri Somanatha Maharshi calls them blessings. Having a Guru is one thing and finding a Margadarshak is another thing. When Sri Somanatha Maharshi visited USA in the month of August 2000. Dallas has witnessed immediate healings to some devotees with their health problems, he said these healings are possible with proper thought process and after 30 plus years of penance, a Yogi is capable of healing anybody with his thought process but more importantly he mentioned that this can be done by each and every individual if a breathing technique is followed properly any regularly.

As recently as February 2001 I had a personal problem with my neck disk and was planning to take steps go through the process of getting a slipped disk cartilage removed to eliminate the excruciating pain. I called him from USA and asked if this problem can be eliminated without surgery. He took a couple minutes to remove 75% of pain in my neck, shoulders and elbow. He mentioned exactly without looking at anything, what the doctors have said by looking at MRI and other X-Rays and said everything will completely heal in a few weeks and said practise the sadhana regularly.

I am writing this to encourage each and everyone to practise the Manoyoga Sadhana and benefit from the technique that Sri Maharshi has brought it to this world for everyone of us. I did read the life of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba and witnessing the same in Sri Somanatha Maharshi. It is certainly our privilege to come across a Yogi like Sri Somanatha Maharshi. Sri Maharshi says "to perfect the process it took 30 years for me and I am giving it to you to do it 30 minutes everyday, so benefit this for a very healthy life" .
